In 2008, the Toronto Diamonds Volleyball Club was founded by Clayton Carimbocas, under the belief that there was a need for a club that would challenge its players and prepare them for the next level. Scouting talent everywhere, Carimbocas found girls who were interested in trying a new sport, and in whom he saw potential as volleyball players.
For the Diamond’s inaugural year, they had one team made up primarily of girls who had never played the sport before. However, with Carimbocas’ training and a lot of dedication the girls picked the game up quickly, and by the end of the second year the Diamonds were on the volleyball community’s radar.
The past two years have been very prosperous for the club. The club has grown to 4 girls teams along with an 18u boys team. The club runs a house-league for 3 seasons of the year, and offers beach camps in the summer. The club has a reputation for developing top level talent, with 3 Diamond players on full scholarships to play D1 Volleyball in the NCAA, and 1 player joining a Canadian University team.
The Toronto Diamonds Volleyball Club are now one of the premier clubs in Canada, developing girls into tremendous athletes, competing on the national stage, and guiding the girls movement into the next stage of their athletic careers.
